Little Victories uses Developmentally Appropriate Practices set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in developing their theme based curriculum. Our Lead Staff ensures that your child will be given the opportunity to learn and grow using all of their five developmental areas: Physical, Emotional, Cognitive, Social and Creative. A lesson plan is posted weekly for parents to be able to see what there child will be able to explore on a daily basis. We encourage our parents to take this information home and talk with your child about their day. A daily schedule is in place for the children to form a sense of “routine”, however when given the opportunity to go with a “teachable moment,” our staff will change events to accommodate the needs of the classroom. Little Victories also understands that not all children develop in the exact same way; we will adapt our curriculum on a daily basis to meet the needs of all children in the classroom.

Infant Classroom Goals (6 weeks to 15 months)

Our first and foremost goal for our Infant Classroom is to create a loving and nurturing environment so our Infants feel safe and secure to be able to have the foundation that is needed to be able learn and grow. We will be able to offer your Infant the ability to interact within a group setting which will kindle the opportunity for socialization and exploration. We will enhance the developmental growth through age appropriate materials and toys. Our Infant Classroom will prepare our children for when they must enter into our Toddler Program at 15 months.

Toddler Classroom Goals (15-35 months)

The Toddler Classroom is set up in learning centers. These centers are designed for your Toddler to have the opportunity to have hands-on learning at their own rate and interest, Toddlers best learning motivation is their own exploration.  Our teachers use thematic units to interconnect the learning that is done in the classroom centers to the learning that takes place through organized activities. Our goal in this room is to also start encouraging self-help skills, develop better communication skills, improve motor development, and to build on their cognitive development.

Preschool Classroom Goals (35 months-and up)

The Preschool Classroom is a multi-age room. We develop our curriculum to meet the needs of all the children in the room. Our room is set up in centers with age appropriate materials for all children to be able to explore, learn and most importunately have FUN! Our curriculum is set up in thematic units that connect with all developmental learning areas, so that the children are able to grasp the theme through which ever way your child learns best! The children will focus on mastering their Kindergarten Readiness Skills while in our program. With encouragement and reinforcement at home our hope is that your child will have all the tools necessary to have a fun and successful Kindergarten Experience!

Online payments now accepted through Tuition Express.  Little Victories accepts Visa, Master Card and Discover.  Families may also use their checking or savings account to pay the tuitions.  Simply download the authorization form fill it out and drop it off.

Megan Olson -  Just to give you some history on me…I am from Spokane WA, my family and I just moved to Forest Lake this past May. My husband and I have two children; Kambell, 2 1/2 who attends Little Victories and Hayden, 5 who is in Kindergarten.  I have been in the child care profession for most of my working life. Before leaving Spokane I was the Director of a full-day program for the last six years. I had also worked as a Pre-Kindergarten Teacher prior to that for four years. I love this ever changing, challenging and exciting profession. It is extremely rewarding to know that in some small way I am contributing to your child’s early childhood educational experience! In my spare time I love cooking, traveling and spending time with my family.

Cindy – Toddler Teacher.   Cindy has been with Little Victories for over a year. Cindy has an AAS Degree in Early Childhood Education. She has been teaching for many, many years as well as being a mother of two and a “big kid” herself. In Cindy’s free time she enjoys making and selling her crafts, hiking, having fun with her two children and husband and snowmobiling. Her favorite childhood memory was climbing up trees and getting real dirty, which make Cindy a perfect match for our Toddlers!!

Jackee - Infant Teacher. Jackee has been working at Little Victories over a year now. Jackee has lots of Infant Room experience. Before being employed by Little Victories she worked in another center in their Infant Room for 4 1/2 years. Jackee is currently enrolled in college where she is earning her degree in Nursing. In Jackee’s spare time she enjoys shopping, school and boating. Her favorite childhood memory is spending time with her Dad. She also enjoyed camping with her Mom and Sister.

Nicole – Toddler/Preschool Teacher. Nicole has worked at Little Victories since January of ‚Äò08. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire, with a BA in Psychology. She worked at the University Child Center for 2 years with children ages 2-4 years. She is now in a Master’s Program for Teaching. In Nicole’s free time she likes to play volleyball, softball and tennis. She really enjoys hanging out with her family and friends. She also enjoys reading, going to the movies and shopping. Her favorite childhood memory is riding bikes and hula hooping with her brother and being the “Big Sister” when her little sister was born.

Shannon - Lead Preschool Teacher.   Shannon is our newest addition at Little Victories.  Shannon has an abundance of experience in early education;  an Associates Degree in Early Education, a credential in Child Care Administration, a teacher of  infant and toddler classes at WITC in New Richmond and 9 years of classroom experience.   In addition, she previously owned and operated her own child care center that was licensded for 40 children.  Shannon lives in St. Croix Falls, WI with her husband Mike and two daughters, Valerie and Vanessa and their two dogs, Dakota and Emma! 

Sara – Infant Teacher- Sara has been with Little Victories since June of ‚Äò08. Sara had lots of experience caring for children. She has worked at Trinity Family Center in Hudson WI in an infant and toddler room. She also does some substituting at St. Croix Center with all age groups. Sara even was a nanny of Infant Triplets in Montreal, Canada!! Some of Sara’s hobbies include; traveling, reading, sewing and spending time with family and friends. Her favorite childhood memory is getting her first kitten when she was 8 years old…and she still has her!

Kelsi – Preschool Teacher - Kelsi has been working at Little Victories since September of ‘08. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a degree in Child Psychology.  Kelsi has experience working with children as a camp counselor and has also been a nanny.  In Kelsi’s free time she enjoys horseback riding, reading, camping and just about anything that has to do with the outdoors.   Kelsi favorite childhood memory is when she was 5 years old and she received her first pony!

Susan - Toddler Teacher - Susan has been working at Little Victories for about a month now. She previously worked as a Nanny for a family and was a Teacher at a center in an Infant Program. She also has experience working with developmentally delayed children as a behavior specialist.  In Susan’s free time she enjoys reading, swimming and movies!  Susan’s favorite childhood memory is gong camping every summer and exploring many areas in Wisconsin and Michigan.

Michele – works as a subsitutue teacher in our Preschool room. She has a Degree with a major in Mass Communications and a Minor in Sociology. She has extensive experience with preschool to school age children. She enjoys writing and going to the theatre. She is also a published author of a book called “Grab your Tiger”.

There are two options for meals:
1. Parents may provide a meal for their child. (see below for meal requirements)
2. Meals may be purchased from Little Victories, breakfast is $2 and warm lunch is $4.  All meals are included in Full time and Full day rates.

Meal Requirements: Per FDA requirements a meal must consist of the following food groups:

1 serving fluid Milk
1 serving of protein
2 servings of vegetable and or fruit
1 serving grain / bread

Little Victories will not serve any snacks, lunches or dinners with peanut ingredients. We cannot, however, guarantee that there is no peanut in the facility. Any questions, please talk to the Director.

NEW TO LITTLE VICTORIES…PRESCHOOL SESSIONS. 

Little Victories has always offered Preschool Curriculum daily, however, starting in January 2010, Preschool sessions will be offered to families that are looking for a Preschool option  only.  Two (Tues./Thurs.) and three day (M, W, F) options will be offered from 9-11:30.  The 2 day rate is $110 per month and a 3 day rate is $165/mo.   Children must be 3 years old and fully potty trained to attend. 

Children attending Preschool will allways have an option to stay for lunch and through the rest of day if desired.   Our lunches are yummy…delivered from Kowalskis.  Call the center for more information and details.

Our toddlers are busy bees!  They walk, they talk, and they begin to develop relationships with each other. Toddlers learn through sensory experiences that enhance their cognitive, language, motor and social skills. They turn ideas into words and phrases to better express themselves, and practice the value of sharing and cooperating through group play. Children at this stage start to develop friendships and gain confidence as they use their words and thoughts to interact with others.

One time reservations and recurring reservations are available for Child Care of 3 hours or more per day and may be made anytime in advance. Reservations that are for less then 3 hours can  be made 24 hours in advance.  These reservations can always be cancelled up to the day before the reservation without a penalty!
